18th August 2007
The Oil Firing Technical Association has recently announced the appointment of two new Directors, according to Online Oil Heating Magazine OilFiredUp.com.
Jeremy Hawksley is set to join the training, standards and registration agency for the oil heating industry in the British Isles, on Tuesday 28th August, in the newly created position of Director General. Jeremy joins OFTEC with a background of previously running the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF). Originally hailing from East Anglia, Jeremy has considerable experience of working on behalf of Trade Association Members and representing industry interests to Government.
Jeremy’s appointment follows the return of Glen Rae to OFTEC last Monday, to run the training, assessment and registration side of the business. Glen has recently been running his own business within the industry. Glen has been with OFTEC before where previously and according to a spokesperson for OFTEC, he demonstrated ‘great knowledge, enthusiasm and a drive to improve standards within oil training and registration’.
Glen’s appointment as a Director sees a new position being created within the Association, whilst the appointment of Jeremy Hawksley as Director General, follows the resignation of Richard Gales as Chief Executive Officer earlier this year.
