The Oil Firing Technical Association has confirmed that Richard Gales has resigned as Chief Executive with effect from 31 May 2007.
In the 5 years that Gales was in charge, he was the public face of OFTEC, promoting oil heating and cooking in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. He was also instrumental in OFTEC’s participation in Eurofuel, promoting oil and biofuel as an environmentally friendly fuel source throughout the European Union.
As well as representing oil equipment manufacturers’ interests at Government level, OFTEC also runs the largest competent persons’ scheme in the UK for oil heating and cooking. With 9,000 regsitered technicians and businesses, OFTEC provides training, support and technical advice.
OFTEC Chairperson Brian Lelliott wished Gales well with his future plans and thanked him for what he terms ‘his immense contribution’ to the oil heating and cooking industry over the last 5 years.
