OFTEC launches search for Oil Heating Excellence

OFTEC - the training, standards and registration agency for the oil heating industry throughout the British Isles - has announced that the search for excellence across the oil firing industry is now on.

Launching the OFTEC Awards for Excellence 2007, Marketing Manager Barry Edge said, “This year’s event promises to be a fantastic celebration of the oil firing industry, recognizing the skills that are in high demand from consumers and industry alike.”

Categories include Installers, Service and Commissioning Technicians, Fuel Distribution Depots, Training Centres and Trainee of the Year. OFTEC Registered Technicians can nominate themselves for any of the installation categories which are:

> Oil Boiler Installer of the Year
> Oil Stove or Cooker Installer of the Year
> Oil Tank Installer of the Year

There are five regions - East, West, North, South and a combined region for technicians in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. National winners in the installation and servicing categories (including Trainee) will receive a cheque for £500. All winners will be invited with their partner to attend a black tie gala dinner and presentation ceremony on 28th September in London at the Hotel Russell.

This year OFTEC are pleased to ask Registered Technicians and their guests to attend the Awards for Excellence. Tickets cost £90 +VAT and are available on a first come first served basis.
