FPS Expo 2010 relocates from Telford to Harrogate International Centre

4th May 2009
Next year's FPS Expo - Europe's biggest exhibition for the downstream oil and oil heating industry - which was originally set to be held in Liverpool, before being switched to Telford, is now set to return to Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

In an e-mail to exhibitors, the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers', Event Co-ordinator Vanessa Cooke, cited Harrogate's popularity with exhibitors and delegates alike, as one of the key reasons underpinning the change of venue. Doors to the two day event will now open on Wednesday 21 April 2010.

And in a change to recent years which has seen FPS Expo travel the length and breadth of the British Isles, Harrogate is set to play host to FPS Expo for the next five years. The Federation has confirmed that FPS Expo 2011 and 2014 have both already been confirmed for Harrogate, and FPS 2012 and 2013 have also been provisionally booked for the same venue.

OilFiredUp.com spoke with oil tank specialist Harlequin - a longstanding sponsor and supporter of FPS Expo. Harlequin's Marketing Manager John Switzer said, "I must admit that personally, I was looking forward to FPS Expo being held in Liverpool. Liverpool is one of the most distinctive and vibrant cities anywhere in the UK and I was disappointed when I heard that Liverpool had been cancelled.

"However, Harrogate is a fantastic venue too and one that is especially popular with FPS exhibitors and delegates alike. From an exhibitor's perspective, the facilities at Harrogate International Centre are absolutely first rate and the infrastructure in the surrounding area provides plenty of choice for visitors when it comes to places to sleep, eat and drink!

"Indeed, given the success of FPS Expo 2009, we'd already committed to attending FPS Expo 2010 before the doors had even closed on this year's exhibition."
