Harlequin Oil Tanks set for Success at FPS Expo

17th March 2008
Harlequin Oil Tanks - FPS ExpoLeading oil storage tank manufacturer Harlequin Oil Tanks, is preparing for what is set to be the biggest ever product launch in the company’s 27 year history at FPS Expo in Dublin. The pioneering tank manufacturer promises to launch no less than two completely new product ranges at the event – together with three all-new additions to the company’s comprehensive range of Bunded Heating Oil Tanks.

The launch of three new Bunded Oil Tanks reinforces the success of the company’s existing Bunded Tank line up. New 650 litre and 3500 litre tanks join the range, and an all-new version is set to be launched of the company’s long-serving, 1100 litre Slimline Bunded model.

Marketing Manager John Switzer explains, “These latest additions to the Harlequin range have been developed in response to customer demand.

“Within the British Isles, the growth in sales of today’s highly efficient, condensing oil boilers has created demand for a new smaller, Bunded Heating Oil Tank. After all, if modern oil boilers use less fuel than their predecessors, and fuel distributors are prepared to deliver smaller drops of fuel – then it makes inherent sense to offer installers the choice of fitting a smaller oil tank. That’s the rationale behind the introduction of the new 650 litre Slimline Bunded Oil Tank. Indeed, before the product has even been officially launched, interest from installers and resellers alike is strong.

“The 650 litre will be joined in the Harlequin range by a new 3500 litre Horizontal Bunded Tank. This was developed in response to very specific demand in mainland Europe for a mid range Bunded Tank. Whilst the existing 2700 litre and 5000 litre Bunded Tanks are strong sellers in many EU markets, research identified a requirement for a tank positioned somewhere in between – so that’s what exactly what we’ve produced. Whilst we forecast the bulk of sales to be outside the UK and Republic of Ireland, we do expect the 3500 litre Bunded Tank to be of interest to installers undertaking larger, domestic oil heating installations within the British Isles.

“At the lower end of the capacity scale, we’ll be launching a replacement for the long-serving 1100BND/ENV Slimline Bunded Tank. The new model retains the compact dimensions and footprint of the outgoing model which first appeared in 1996, but incorporates the very latest advances in storage tank design and construction. Together with the new 650 litre model, the existing 1000 litre and 1300 litre models, installers will be able to benefit from an unrivalled choice of environmentally preferred, highly space efficient, Slimline Bunded Tanks engineered by Harlequin to ensure compliance with the highest standards.”

In addition to the three all-new Bunded Heating Oil Tanks, scheduled to appear at FPS Expo, Harlequin is also launching two completely new product ranges. Developed in response to increasing demand for a self contained BioDiesel storage solution, Harlequin’s new range of BioBund BioDiesel Storage Tanks will be available in a choice of 4 capacities from 1450 litres to 10,100 litres, as John explains.

“Complementing the existing BioFuel Station range, the new BioBund range has been primarily developed for the storage of BioDiesel at retail installations, where the BioBund storage tank would ordinarily be connected to a remote pump and delivery system. However, we are receiving an increasing number of enquiries from people who are running domestic and commercial heating systems on BioDiesel. In that context, the BioBund range will prove ideal.

“BioDiesel is a specialist fuel which requires specialist containment. It is inherently unsuitable for storage in plastic tanks manufactured from traditional grades of polyethylene. The BioBund range is there manufactured from a specialist, chemical resistant polymer and is supplied complete with 1” diameter Top Outlet, Non Return Valve, Apollo Electronic Oil Tank Contents Gauge and Bund Warning Alarm as standard.” says John.

Completing Harlequin’s phalanx of new products at FPS Expo will be a new, dedicated range of Bunded Waste Oil Tanks. Available in a choice of 5 capacities from 350 litres to 2,000 litres, the new range will be previewed at FPS Expo and be available from Harlequin Resellers throughout the British Isles from May 2008.

FPS Expo supported by Harlequin, is being held at the RDS Simmonscourt Pavillion on Wednesday 23rd April and Thursday 24 April 2008, and attracts companies from across Europe and further afield. For more information and to register online, visit the official FPS Expo website at www.fpsexpo.co.uk
