OFTEC Launches Liquid Biofuels Campaign

The Oil Fired Technical Association (OFTEC) is launching a new, high profile, communications campaign to persuade HM Government of the merits of including Bioliquid Fuels within the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) after October 2012.
The decision to proceed with the campaign has been taken amidst concerns within OFTEC, of strong political opposition from non Governmental Organisations to the inclusion of Bioliquid fuels within RHI.
Well-respected independent, communications consultancy, Luther Pendragon, has been chosen to spearhead the campaign on OFTEC's behalf. London based, but with an office in Brussels, Luther Pendragon has extensive experience of lobbying and influencing key decision makers. The company's clients include Boeing, The Bingo Association, The Association of Charity Shops, Arthritis Research, Ernst & Young, Brownhills Motorhomes, Grosvenor Casinos and The Wrigley Company. Luther Pendragon has extensive experience of working within the energy and heating sector in particular, with clients including Drax Group plc, Good Energy, UK LPG, LM Windpower and the Heating & Hotwater Information Council.
OFTEC's campaign will target both Ministers and MPs as well as the national media.
The launch of the campaign comes only days after OFTEC announced it was to publish pr OFS24, the organisation's provisional fuel specification for Bioliquid Fuel Blends. Earlier this year, a spokesperson for OFTEC admitted, "OFTEC has a huge fight on it's hands to make sure that biofuels are included in the renewable heat incentive so that consumers in rural areas have access to competitively priced heating solutions."
